OUR OBJECTIVS
After school activities are organised for all grades, Kindergarten, primary and in secondary school
After school activities enable children to discover, to enhance or sometimes to develop certain talents, whether artistic, sportive or musical. They give children with the same interests the opportunity to work closely in small groups where they can give free reign to their enthusiasm and creativity.
A child can express itself through a common denominator : the subject of interest, a sport, music or the theatre.
All that is needed is to guide the child in developing his/her skills, whether within the school facilities or outside.
OUR INFRASTRUCTURES
The CESAME office works closely with the school.
Within the limits of its possibilities and existing structures, after the general organisation of its timetables, the school allows us to occupy certain premises: classrooms, gymnasiums, art rooms.
The number of premises available to us determines the choice of activities and how they are spread out over the week.
Every year, we make the most of the premises available.
THE PROGRAM
Kindergarten
The programme is drawn up on a semester or yearly basis, depending on the type of activity.
Activities take place from September to June (in 2 cycles).
- Primary 1 and 2
The programme is drawn up on a semester or annual basis, depending on the type of activity.
Activities take place from September to June (in 2 cycles).
Organised in 2 half-yearly cycles, this allows the youngest children to discover the content of one or more activities without committing to a full year. It gives children the opportunity to try out several activities and to make a more considered choice later on.
The annual activities are more concrete (e.g. judo, jazz dance, piano, etc.) and do not necessarily involve a "discovery" phase.
Primary 3, 4 and 5
The programme is drawn up on an annual basis.
Activities take place from the end of September to mid-June.
Secondary
The programme is drawn up on an annual basis.
Activities take place from mid-September to mid-June
OUR ACTIVITIES
Our programmes offer a wide range of activities designed to help children develop in a fun environment, develop their creativity, acquire new skills or discover new interests.
We offer sporting, artistic, musical and cultural activities.
The criteria for selecting activities are :
- Educational and/or attractive nature
- The maintenance of existing activities for which there is significant demand
- The desire to set up activities that have been very successful in other facilities.
- Availability of suitable premises
Budgetary constraints (each activity must have a minimum number of enrolments to break even. This threshold is set by Césame according to the nature of the activity).
In all circumstances, the activities aim to satisfy as many people as possible and cannot be set up for individual requests.
Extracurricular activities are not childcare. The aim is not to place children in an extra-curricular activity so that they can escape the "long break" at midday, but to enrol them in an activity for which they are motivated.
OUR ANIMATORS
They are selected from an existing team with a proven track record. We also receive unsolicited applications and recruit new staff from other schools and organisations that organise recreational activities for children.
Activity leaders are selected on the basis of
- Their technical skills
- Their training and professional experience
- Their motivation
- Their ability to manage a group of children
- Their availability
In accordance with the requirements of the General Secretariat of the European Schools, all employees must provide a type 2 criminal record certificate on recruitment and every 3 years thereafter.
